One in ten Dutch people has severe gum disease and that can have catastrophic consequences for the general health. But this care is only slightly reimbursed by the health insurer. Are there gaps in dental care?

Frank Abbas, professor of periodontology at the UMCG in Groningen and Peter van der Schoor, dentist and implantologist have been interviewed about the health risks of severe gum disease and that the consequences of this put pressure on budgets in health care.
